Get back to full strength.
Clinical assessment, hands-on treatment and progressive rehabilitation — built around how your body actually moves, not a generic protocol.
Ben
I'm Ben Gibson MSc, MSTA, the founder of BG Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation. I established the clinic in 2019 to help people recover from injury, reduce pain, and get back to doing the things they enjoy most — working with people of all ages and activity levels, from everyday aches and pains to recreational and competitive athletes returning to sport.
My approach combines hands-on treatment with tailored rehabilitation programmes, addressing the underlying cause rather than just the symptoms. Every patient gets a thorough assessment, a clear explanation of what's going on, and a personalised plan built around their goals — my aim is to give you the knowledge, confidence, and support to stay active and achieve lasting results.
Jemma
Hi, I'm Jemma, a Sports Therapist at BG Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy and a football coaching qualification, giving me a strong understanding of both injury management and the physical demands of sport — I work with clients of all ages and activity levels, from everyday aches and pains to recreational and competitive athletes.
My approach combines hands-on treatment with tailored rehabilitation programmes, focusing on relieving pain while addressing its root cause, so you move with confidence and reduce the risk of future injury. I pride myself on a friendly, supportive environment where every client feels listened to — there's nothing more rewarding than seeing someone return to what they love feeling stronger than before.
Amy
I'm Amy, and I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy from Birmingham City University in June 2025, developing key skills in rehabilitation, injury assessment and strength and conditioning. My experience spans the Old Northamptonian's Rugby Men's First Team, a private sports clinic, Stourbridge FC Women's First Team, and Moulton College Rugby — including pitch-side medical cover on match days.
My passion lies in supporting people to move well, feel strong and reach their personal goals, from athletic performance to everyday function and wellbeing. I take a positive, supportive approach to help patients feel confident and motivated throughout their recovery, and I look forward to supporting you every step of the way.
Matthew
Hi, I'm Matthew, a physiotherapist with a passion for helping people stay active and using exercise and activity to keep people doing what they enjoy. I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2024 and have worked with patients of all levels across a variety of sports and activities.
I am a keen runner and have run for Rugby & Northampton Athletic Club for over a decade. In this time I have had a few injuries of my own and know what it's like to be sat on the other side of an appointment, and this motivates me to help others get back to doing what they enjoy and achieving their goals.
Three ways to work with BG Sports Therapy
Every new patient starts with an assessment — from there, treatment moves into hands-on therapy, structured rehab, or a blend of both, depending on what your body needs.
Initial Assessment & Treatment
A thorough evaluation of your pain/ discomfort, a discussion of your signs, symptoms and goals, followed by hands-on treatment to address pain, improve movement, and create a personalised recovery plan.
Injury Rehabilitation
A tailored session designed to aid recovery from injuries and enhance physical performance. Combining targeted exercises, hands-on therapy, and expert guidance, we focus on rebuilding strength, improving mobility, and helping to prevent future issues to support your long-term well-being.
Sports Massage
Designed to target the muscles used during physical activity, focusing on areas of tension and discomfort. This treatment combines techniques like deep tissue work, stretching, and trigger point therapy to improve circulation, release muscle tightness, and aid in recovery. Ideal for athletes or active individuals, sports massage helps prevent injuries, reduce soreness, and enhance flexibility, ensuring your body stays in top condition.

What our patients say
Real reviews from real patients, straight from our Google Business Profile.
"I have been visiting Ben while struggling with really bad neck pain and stiffness in my shoulders. He is so professional and friendly and I felt immediately put at ease. Not only has he worked on the problem areas of my neck but has given me some valuable advice and exercises to help improve the mobility in my shoulders. The whole experience has been first class, he really knows his field of expertise. I highly recommend Ben."
"Ben was highly recommended by my son-in-law. Having fractured my ankle, I needed help with my recovery. Ben made me feel at ease straight away and listened to my problem. He set me a recovery plan, which was easy to follow. After four visits my ankle was a lot better. I would not hesitate to use Ben again for any further physio in the future."
"Couldn't recommend more, just a great all round experience with Ben — with the knowledge and explanation of what could have been going on with the particular injury and showing genuine care, not feeling like he was just going through the motions."
"I went to see Ben after he was recommended to me. I had hurt my knee and could barely walk. He gave a thorough assessment, explaining everything as he went, and after some massage, together with an agreed exercise plan, I am delighted to report a huge improvement in my level of pain and mobility. I would not hesitate to recommend Ben to anyone."
"I pulled my calf a few months back and thought I'll leave it, it'll get better. It took weeks! Last week I pulled it again — wasn't going to leave it this time, I called Ben and he gave me an appointment the very next day. He properly diagnosed what I'd done, gave me the correct exercises and treatment plan. A week later it's almost back to normal! Can't thank Ben enough and highly recommend him for fixing issues."
"Ben was recommended to me by a friend. I had an innocuous yet painful foot injury, which had impacted my gait, ultimately my hips and knees, culminating in finding a spur in my hip. Then I met Ben. After my first session his treatment and recommendations meant I was relieved of pain — seriously a miracle! He is understanding, patient and most of all I feel heard and motivated to do the work when I leave his clinic. I couldn't recommend Ben enough. A true find."
"Want to say a massive thanks to Amy at BG Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation. After my daughter started struggling with her knee at football she was able to quickly see her. Amy was able to tell us what it was and what we needed to do to help, she was very good with my daughter and explained everything to her and listened when she had questions. Amy was very knowledgeable in being able to adapt and change certain exercises to suit my daughter and her hypermobility. With the continued exercises she is now back playing football no longer in pain! Would definitely recommend."
